Are you ready to eat your way through Porto?

Everyone knows that the city is gorgeous, but did you know that it can also be delicious? We will show you the best of Porto’s famous sights and in between, you will be sampling some of Porto’s best bites. You will not want to miss this tour!

Throughout this journey we will explore some of the city’s most emblematic monuments, beautiful balconies overlooking the river, unexplored streets and alleys, as well as some popular taverns, markets, and cafes.

We will start the tastings with a traditional Portuguese pastry: “Pastel de Nata” – a custard tart, inside an historical café with more than 200 years old.

From there, we’ll taste and talk about the famous 1001 ways to prepare the “bacalhau” (codfish), explain the influence of our former colonies in our culture and cuisine, understand the important connection between the river and sea and its economic importance, and learn about the Portuguese navigators and the adventures related to the discoveries.

Along the way you will continue to sample a few authentic local specialties like bolinho de bacalhau (codfish cakes), the famous spicy pork sandwich, and the mind-blowing cheese and smoked meats

We will end the tour with an outstanding Port Wine Cocktail and we will make a toast in honour to our beautiful city! We would not take you on a tour in Porto without sharing our world-famous Port Wine with you.

TOUR HIGHLIGHTS

Santa Catarina Street

This is the most important shopping area of Porto. This pedestrian-only street is where you can find and listen to musicians, street artisans, restaurants, and cafes. You can also buy some souvenirs for your family.

Rua Passos Manuel

In this emblematic artery of the Downtown of Porto, you can find the Coliseum of Porto. A modernist building where many of the Porto cultural events takes place.

São Bento Railway Station

Portugal’s most emblematic train station where culture and history are side by side with the daily rush of those who pass there. It is famous for its tile panels made by Jorge Colaço.

Porto Cathedral

Also known as “Sé”, is located on the top of a hill and next to some monumental buildings such as the Episcopal Palace which used to be the residence of the bishops of Porto.

Aliados

Named after an alliance between the Portuguese and the British, it is the main avenue of the city of Porto. It is located in the heart of the city and on one end you can observe the City hall of Porto.

Miragaia

One of the oldest neighbourhoods in Porto, Miragaia has its name originated on a legend. If you walk in this area you will be surprised by the local people and local traditions. Nowadays, thousands of people pass by this area to attend events and conferences at Alfandega Congress Center.

Ribeira Square

This old neighbourhood is known for its narrow and cobbled streets, and the colourful facades as a background. A fantastic fusion of the old with the modern era. Here, you will enjoy the best portrait that the city offers with the Douro River framed together with the architectonical beauty of the Luís I Bridge.
